Keep your front door locked at all times. There are numerous records of people leaving their front door unlocked while they are out in the garden or in some other area of the property. When they come back inside they discover that easy to grab valuables like mobile phones, laptops, handbags, cash, car keys and the car are gone.

When leaving home always take the time to make sure that doors and windows are locked. This includes tool sheds from which an invader can find tools that could be used to assist a burglar to gain access to your home and the valuables contained inside.
Make a practice of keeping gates that lead to the rear of your property closed and preferably locked. This not only makes gaining entrance difficult but also makes a hurried exit problematic adding to the potential of criminals being apprehended when they are detected.
